A Workshop on Achieving Justice in the Built Environment
Conducted by the National BlueGreen Alliance’s Building Clean Team

• Learn about the inextricable connection between health and housing and how where you live can have a profound impact on your health outcomes 
• Understand the disproportionate burden of pollution and how this impacts health 
• Discover the role that housing and indoor air pollution play in the distribution of health burden 
• Bring home strategies for advocating for equity in health and housing in Saint Paul and the greater MN area
• Engage with presenters and other attendees to provide feedback on the workshop and lend your voice to learn from citizens and activists working on issues of equitable fair housing in St. Paul! 

What does Building Clean do?

• Working with partners, BGA uses their BuildingClean.org database to showcase the value of purchasing local, healthy, sustainable, and energy-efficient products. We are creating demand for U.S. made healthy and energy efficient construction and building products by providing key information and connecting manufacturers, developers, architects, consumers, and other stakeholders through a free and comprehensive online database. 

The presentation will establish the deep connection between health and housing and how stark the disparities are in our vulnerable communities. Knowledge in this area is uneven and incomplete. BGA’s goal is to fill in those gaps and supply compelling examples and data that will help build a movement for change. By developing a presentation jointly with a wide group of stakeholders, it should be much stronger, informative, and effective.
