The East Side Freedom Library supports a range of learning activities including the History Projects for high school youth, the New Brookwood Labor College and the documentation of our community members of various experiences.

Remember 1934

An archive on the history and commemoration of the Minneapolis Truckers’ Strike of 1934.  It is meant for students and interested community members. It includes photos of the history, resources, reflections from descendants, and related art  projects.
REMEMBER 1934 is a collective group that organizes regular gatherings of social justice and labor activists, union members and strike descendants to celebrate the event and it’s relevance in current issues. The goal is to promote equity and worker self-representation.

UNITE-HERE workplace action/ Ryan Murphy, Earlham College
This depicts the last 24-hours students and Ryan spent at Earlham, much of which takes place at a UNITE-HERE workplace action in the Indiana Grand Casino. Ryan: “I think it says a lot about solidarity, and is something positive to look at amid so much ugly news in other spaces.
