The East Side Freedom Library and the St. Paul Recovery Act Reading Group invite you to a a conversation, What Is Happening With the Exploration of Reparations in St. Paul? And How Can You Make Your Voice Heard?

Register here to join this meeting on Zoom.

In the past year, St. Paul has become one of the leading cities where the discussion of reparations has begun to move towards action. Early in 2022, the City Council unanimously voted to create the “Reparations Legislative Advisory Committee,” to explore the concept of reparations, its historical rationale and possible future impact, measures adopted in other cities, and strategies for implementation. The Committee will soon issue its recommendations to the City Council, the Mayor, and our wider community.

For the past two and a half years, the East Side Freedom Library and the St. Paul Recovery Act Reading Group have been convening a monthly discussion, involving several individuals who have been part of the city’s process, as well as diverse local residents who are seeking to become well-informed about the concept of reparations. Please join us on Tuesday evening, September 13, to learn about the Advisory Committee’s process and its recommendations. You can read them here:
