Readings from “What God is Honored Here?”

December 7, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm CST

Event Navigation

What God Is Honored Here? is a literary collection of voices of Indigenous women and women of color who have undergone miscarriage and infant loss, experiences that disproportionately affect women who have often been cast toward the margins in the U.S. Powerfully and with brutal honesty, they write about what it means to reclaim life in the face of death.

East Sider Kao Kalia Yang (The Late Homecomer, The Song Poet) a much-celebrated writer in the Hmong community, and writer/educator Shannon Gibney (See No Color, Dream Country) joined their efforts to inspire, shape, and published this remarkable book, Whose God is Honored Here? Join us to hear authors Kao Kalia Yang, Dania Rajendra, Taiyon Coleman, and Catherine Squires read from their essays in this book.
