Environmental activist and leader, Berta Cáceres, was beloved by her Lenca indigenous people and freedom-loving Hondurans. In her life, she fought as a guerrilla in El Salvador and firmly believed in international solidarity. She dared to resist the oligarchs and foreign corporations who came to pillage her land, and, in 2015, she won the world’s most prestigious environmental award, the Goldman Prize.

She was also the first name on the Honduran government’s hit list. In 2016, Berta Cáceres was assassinated in the middle of the night. And still today, several questions remain unanswered as to who killed Berta Cáceres. Join us for a talk with author, Nina Lakhani. Learn what you can do in response to this grave injustice.

This is a free event. Donations for Berta’s organization, COPINH, are accepted.
