The East Side Freedom Library invites you to “Then in Now: The East Side,” Ben Greilanger’s Photography Exhibit on Saturday, December 2 @ 4:00PM-8:00PM.
Ben Greilanger has called the East Side home for 9 years. As a realtor and handyman, he has seen many different types of properties all around the East Side. The inspiration for this project came while helping on some projects in the Historic Hamm’s Brewery. He was curious about what the brewery looked like when it was fully operational, which led to searching the MN Historical Society’s photo archives. There he found various photos of the brewery along with many other great shots from all around Saint Paul. What started as a curiosity has grown into a passionate interest in capturing the city’s past and present. The photos he creates allow a glimpse into the past for areas whose histories we commonly overlook.
More information about Ben’s work can be found on his Facebook page @ThenInNow.
“Then in Now: The East Side” will include framed images on the ESFL’s walls and images which can be purchased for holiday presents. There will be refreshments at the opening, and Ben will make a brief talk about his work. The images will remain on display for two weeks.
