Directed by Preeti Kaur Rajpal
Recipient of a 2019 Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant

Thursday, December 12, 2019, 6:30 – 8:00 PM

Preeti writes: “To honor International Human Rights Day, we will gather to read and write poems on the “Poetry of Witness.” We will study poems in the tradition of Carolyn Forché. No experience necessary and all are welcome. This will be a safe space.”

Preeti Kaur Rajpal is an emerging poet living in Minneapolis. She is a current Jerome Hill Artist Fellow for the 2019-2021 years, and a 2017-2018 Loft Literary Mentor Series Fellow in Poetry. She will be an artist in residence at the Djerrasi Artist Residency in 2020. Her poems have been most recently published in The Lantern Review, Tupelo Quarterly, Spook Mag, and other publications. She has poems forthcoming in the poetry anthologies The World I Leave You: Asian American Poets on Faith and Spirit and They Rise Like a Wave: An Anthology of Asian American Women Poets. This workshop will culminate her year as a 2019 Minnesota State Arts Board Artists Initiative Grant recipient.
