Event Navigation

Theater artists Taous and Mohammed facing back to back looking out at the audienceThis summer join theater artists Taous and Mohammed in creating a play with props and costumes at the East Side Freedom Library, at 1105 Greenbrier Street. We will play games, invent goofy characters and use our imaginations to tell a story that might have an ogress or giant frog or a timid lion! Food will be served at the end of each session. The first session is August 12-16, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  The second session is August 19-23, 2:00-5:00 p.m.

Young people aged 7-12 can come to the East Side Freedom Library this summer to:

    • Explore folktales from immigrant communities present in Minnesota in an artistic theatrical setting
    • Collaborate as an ensemble on making a play based on a folktale
    • Use the tools of an actor (body, voice, imagination, concentration and collaboration) in order to express a character’s thoughts and feelings
    • SNACKS PROVIDED!

Please register in the form at https://eastsidefreedomlibrary.org/ogress/. Space is LIMITED, so please register early to ensure your spot (you must register to attend)!
