Tapestry19: Many Threads Weaving a Path Home
Tuesday, February 19, 2019, 7 p.m.
at the East Side Freedom Library
In partnership with the East Side Freedom Library, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra has posed the central question of Tapestry19 to a talented group of artists from around the Twin Cities: how do you recognize home? The artists will respond to the theme from their own perspective and utilizing a wide range of media, from music to spoken word to visual art.
Artists for this event include SPCO musicians Kyu-Young Kim, Sang Yoon Kim and Alicia McQuerrey as well as work by photographer John Matsunaga, poet and vocalist Mankwe Ndosi, cellist Jacqueline Ultan, spoken word and music duo Strong Buffalo (Thomas LeBlanc) with Ben Weaver, award winning author Kao Kalia Yang, and Yodit Mekuria, an Ethiopian poet/spoken word artist.
Refreshments and conversation will follow the event – free and open to the public.
This event is created in conjunction with the Tapestry 19 series and the SPCO concerts “Tapestry19: Reflections on Home” held at The Ordway, February 22, 23 and 24. See details here: https://content.thespco.org/events/tapestry19-reflections-on-home/
