Event Navigation

Wednesday, September 11, 7pm

This documentary explores the abuse of power by the justice system and its failure to provide justice. In 2015, Jamar Clark was shot and killed by Minneapolis police in 61 seconds after they arrived on the scene. In 2019, the story continues on the 3rd vigil on the night Jamar Clark was killed. The Minneapolis North Side community cannot move forward. One community resident asks “how do you hold police accountable?”. Director Phil McGraw shares the story of trauma created by police violence around the nation. He takes viewers on his journey of recovery and understanding solutions to end police violence. This is For Justice Forgotten.

Director Phil McGraw elevates the voices of individuals through his lens. His community centered vision brings healing and illuminates the path toward justice through the arts community. Raised in Chicago, IL., Phil McGraw picked up a camera for the first time in 2008 and fell in love with its versatility as an artistic medium. He started recording stories he deemed important to the community. Now, as a filmmaker in the Twin Cities, MN, he shares stories about the arts community and trauma in the black community, correlating how it affects the Black community.
