On the first Saturday of every other month, Rhythmic Literature brings their poetry, music, and art—and their community—to the East Side Freedom Library to share with all of us. Everyone is welcome!  All are invited to sign up for the Open Mic!  Rhythmic Literature is a diverse group of Ethiopians who reside in Minnesota to use art to promote discussions and build community. Their events have honored such vibrant artists as Bewketu Seyoum and Yohannes Tona in the areas of literature and contemporary jazz. Participants have shared classical Amharic poems and have offered their original work in Amharic, English, Oromo, and Tigrayan.

Doors open at 4:30pm with the program beginning at 5pm. Refreshments will be provided.
