The trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd inflicted additional layers of trauma on many of us, but it came to a dramatic conclusion which has left us asking: “What is the next step in the struggle for racial justice?” The trial and its outcome have generated considerable analysis, interpretation, and argument. We have selected some of the most thoughtful – and thought-provoking – essays for our reading and discussion this month.
This sets an analytical framework: What Did Cedric Robinson Mean by Racial Capitalism? (Boston Review).

- Derek Chauvin Was Not an Aberration (The New Republic)
- An Antiracist Agenda for Medicine (Boston Review)
