Renee Vaughan and Adam Kiesling: New and Traditional Nordic Folk Music
Sunday, April 8th, 3-5pm
Renee and Adam play new and traditional Nordic folk music on nyckelharpa and guitar… high energy slängpolska, contemplative gånglåt and delicate waltzes are favorites. Adam loves a wide variety of music, especially deep-rooted American old-time tunes recorded in the 1920s and 30s. Adam also plays banjo, upright bass, resonator guitar, mandolin and ukulele. Renee plays nyckelharpa, a rustic and earthy traditional Scandinavian instrument that dates back to the 1300s. Renee performs throughout the midwest with many different musical constellations, and is a regular at the American Swedish Institute, Høstfest and Nisswa-Stämmän Scandinavian music festivals.
