More Trees, and Rivers: The Final Concert by Musical Ecology

June 15, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm CDT

Reception Afterwards

The Eco-jazz quartet Musical Ecology returns to the East Side Freedom Library with a new collection of compositions and spoken word. While much “jazz-based” music tends to be urban/human based, Musical Ecology explores the intersection of the functionality and processes of nature, and the human world.  The orations pose questions regarding our role in the larger ecosystem.

The ensemble is led by east side pianist/composer/orator Todd Harper; Aaron Kerr is the cellist and editor; Eric Coursen brings percussion momentum, and Jun Miyake  comes from New York City to bring out the lyrical and ecstatic on flutes and saxophone. It’s a concert you won’t want to miss!

Last autumn’s tour produced a CD, “ Trees”, which receives regular radio play. This CD will be available for purchase.
