The East Side Freedom Library invites you to “Kind of Bill – The Musical Life of Bill Evans” on our front lawn!
Suggested donation of $15. Students and families welcome!
Bill Evans was an American jazz pianist and composer whose use of impressionist harmony, inventive interpretation of traditional jazz repertoire, bloch chords and rhythmically independent, “singing” melodic lines continue to influence jazz pianists today. Among them is the Twin Cities’ Larry McDonough, whose quartet will offer a performance which celebrates the musical life of Bill Evans and his associations with Tony Bennett, Scott LaFaro, Paul Motian, Miles Davis, Jim Hall, Eddie Gomez, Eliot Zuigmund, Marc Johnson, and Joe LaBarbera.
The Larry McDonough Quartet consists of: Larry McDonough, piano and voice; Richard Terrill, saxes and poetry; Greg Stinson, Bass; Dean White, drums.
Suggested donation of $15—no one turned away.
