People making string art at ESFL

In person on ESFL’s beautiful front lawn

Throughout this past year, we have seen an incredible intersection of art and activism in the Twin Cities. Art has empowered and connected us, and allowed people to engage with the complex issues that impact them. To explore this intersection, ESFL will be hosting a monthly String Activist group that will focus on crochet and knitting as mediums for social change art making and community building. We will meet at the East Side Freedom Library front lawn on Saturday, September 18 at 5pm. People of all skill levels are welcome to participate. We will learn and work collaboratively to build these skills and apply them to community and public art projects on the East Side. These projects will engage with different social change issues and ideas that impact the East Side.

Zoe Quinn is our master string artist.
