East Side Housing Organizational Meeting

January 8, 2020 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm CST

Event Navigation

Over the past year, a working group has formed around housing justice on the East Side of Saint Paul. We’ve held conversations, film screenings, meetings with public officials, and finally a housing summit in the hopes of gathering the community in solidarity around the housing issues East Siders are facing. We’re at a crucial point in our group’s evolution where we have the opportunity to take the momentum we’ve generated and turn it into something bigger.

On Wednesday January 8th, at 6:30pm at the East Side Freedom Library, we will be holding a meeting of many organizations working on housing in various locations from different angles to determine the best practices our group can adopt moving forward. As part of our efforts to make our process a public affair, this will be an open meeting and Twin Cities Public Television may be recording. These are the questions that will be discussed with invited organizations:

1.       What are you doing?
2.       What are you doing well?
3.       What do you need to improve?
4.       How can we support you?
5.       How can we be supported by you?

We also hope to explore:

– Short term and long term organizational capacity.
– How are we branding what we’re doing?
– What is our vision?
– What is our plan moving forward?
– Geographical context/How are we defining the East Side?
