Have you heard? The American Rescue plan will provide $166 million in new, one-time federal funding to help our community recover from the COVID pandemic, between now and 2024. What is important to you, your family and your neighborhood? The city’s annual budget process — starting in August — will determine how much we can invest in public safety, parks and recreation, libraries, housing development, in street and sidewalk maintenance, in creating jobs and economic development. As the City of Saint Paul sets its 2022 Budget and American Rescue Plan priorities, Councilmembers Nelsie Yang and Jane Prince invite you to join them in a conversation to share your priorities for Saint Paul.

Besides ensuring that everyone in Saint Paul gets vaccinated, this large financial “windfall” gives us a chance to make larger investments, such as affordable housing, broadband and digital access and/or other big projects we usually can’t afford. What is your top priority for these dollars? How can we leverage these funds to make Saint Paul work better for all of us!

Please join this conversation to make sure that the city’s investments reflect YOUR PRIORITIES! Stay tuned for an announcement of a second East Side community conversation in mid-July. Both the Zoom link and the Facebook live stream will enable participants to express their questions and concerns.
