Chasing After Freedom: Digital Stories from Washington Technology Students

Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 at 1:00pm

“There is not greater power on this earth than story.”
— Libba Bray

For the past three years, ESFL has worked with English Language Learner (ELL) students and teachers at Washington Technology Magnet High School in a marvelous program giving them the tools to tell their stories in a digital format, and to share those stories with their — and our — community. Join us to watch their powerful stories and meet these impressive students.

Thailand, Somalia, Mexico, Nepal, Burma…students come to Washington Technology Magnet School from all over the world. What connects us is stories. Stories of our journeys, stories of our families, stories of our most treasured objects, stories of who we are.

Please join us as we celebrate our stories at the East Side Freedom Library. Students from Ms. Hill and Ms. Rambow’s English 11 class have created short films to capture their experiences through words, pictures, video, and music. Meet the students, connect with community, and enjoy the stories.
