Join us for an in-depth theater discussion led by the creative artists of the play Atacama. Playwright, Augusto Federico Amador; director and actor, Lara Trujillo; actor Pedro Bayon and associate director and producer, Rick Shiomi will talk about the play that is being produced by Full Circle Theater and presented by Park Square Theater, at the Historic Hamm Building in Downtown St. Paul from April 20 to May 1. They will focus on the origins, themes and values of the play, the production process and how they tie into today’s world. To purchase tickets for Atacama, you can use this link.

Atacama is a play of magical realism and profound reconciliation. Amidst the extraordinary landscape of Chile’s Atacama Desert, two strangers search for the long-lost remains of their children, “disappeared” victims of the brutal Pinochet regime. In their quest for closure, they traverse Chile’s history to examine the opposing views and actions that tore families and countries apart. Their mythic journey explores the transformative possibilities that can lead from transgression to remorse, reparation, forgiveness, and redemption.
