EAST SIDE STORIES
A SELECTION OF DIGITAL VIDEOS BY EAST SIDE YOUTH

Saturday, October 13, 1 to 3PM

Over the past four years, members of East Side communities have come to ESFL to tell their stories. They have used visual art, weaving, music, dance, theater, puppets, poetry, and the written word. This past summer, with support from the John S. and James L. Foundation, ESFL was able to convene five young people to be mentored in the techniques of oral history and digital storytelling by the Immigration History Research Center’s Saengmany Ratsabout. Together, they produced 16 three-to-five minute videos which tell a wide range of stories about them, their families, and the East Side.

Please join us to witness and celebrate their work. We will screen a selection of their films, but you will have access to the complete collection via the ESFL website after this premiere.
