Event Navigation

The East Side Freedom Library and Professor of HECUA’s Inequality in America Program Phil Sandro invite you to  CTUL’s Raise Worker Voice Campaign: An Evening in Solidarity” on Thursday, December 7, 6:00PM-7:30PM, @ East Side Freedom Library.

Peter Rachleff, Co-Executive Director of the East Side Freedom Library, and Phil Sandro, Professor of Inequality in America Program at the Higher Education Consortium for Urban Affairs (HECUA), invite you to join us in supporting CTUL’s Raise Worker Voice Campaign and participating in an evening of solidarity.

CTUL — Centro Trabajadores Unidos en Lucha — organizes low wage workers from across the Twin Cities to struggle for fair wages, better working conditions, basic respect, and a voice in their workplaces.  They have unionized and raised standards for workers in the Twin Cities retail cleaning industry and they have helped thousands of workers recover over $2.2 million in unpaid/stolen wages.  They have had a great positive impact on the struggles of workers in both Minneapolis and St. Paul to earn $15 an hour and paid safe and sick time.

Now, through their RAISE WORKER VOICE CAMPAIGN, CTUL will take their organizing to a new level, reaching immigrant workers and workers of color across the state of Minnesota.  They need our help to expand their staff, print materials, and support their organizing efforts.  Please join us in helping to raise the funds that CTUL needs.
