The Sonoglyph Collective at ESFL
Saturday, September 29, 2018, 7pm
The Sonoglyph Collective combines the arts of poetry, spoken word, storytelling, and songwriting with collective musical improvisation to create unique, spontaneous performances. It features poets Hawona Sullivan Janzen, Lynette Reini-Grandell, IBe Kaba, and Kathryn Kysar; and musicians Aaron Kerr (cello), Sean Egan (clarinet), and Jonathan Townsend (percussion). The group has given performances and workshops at venues and events around the Twin Cities, including the Witness Creative Writing Project, the Wolf House, the Underground Music Cafe, the Riverview Cafe, the Normandale Writing Festival, and the Hamline Midway Library.
“The evening’s performance had poets, musicians and audience riding the waves of literary and sonic interplay – splashing, sunning and laughing in the best tradition of collaboration.”
– Steve Peterson, Twin Cities arts photographer
