The Joy of Writing: A Workshop for St. Paul Almanac Community Editors, Taught by Wendy Brown-Baez

How do we shape stories from life experience? Using simple writing exercises, we will generate material that can be shaped into a story or a poem. We’ll learn how specific details can make our words come alive on the page. All levels of writers welcomed. Bring a notebook.

Wendy Brown-Baez is a published author and poet. Her novel Catch a Dream was released in 2018 and she has published two books of poetry. Both her prose and poetry have appeared in numerous literary journals. Since the award of a MN State Arts Board grant and McKnight grants, she has brought writing workshops into community spaces such as cafes, schools, healing centers, prisons, yoga studios, and libraries.
