A Resister’s Handbook: A benefit performance for East Side Freedom Library
October 21, 2017 @ 4:30 pm - 8:00 pm CDT
Event Navigation
These are tough times, and more now than ever we need a little hope, the power of story, and the support of good friends.
Javier Morillo is “a labor leader, activist, podcaster, writer and storyteller based in Minnesota. In my day job, I am the president of Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 26, which unites close to 7,000 property service workers in the Twin Cities metro area.” Javier and Levi Weinhagen created a show called “A Resister’s Handbook”, and Javier is bringing his storytelling work to the East Side Freedom Library, where we “inspire solidarity, advocate for justice and work toward equity for all.”
Please plan to join us at 5:30 PM for refreshments and good conversation, with Javier taking the stage at 7 PM to share his wit and optimism in the fight for justice. Voluntary contributions will help keep the Library a strong home for the work of our communities. A minimum, tax-deductible gift of $25 is requested at the door. More if you can, but no one will be turned away. If you can’t attend in person, but are willing to make a contribution, visit our donate page to give online or contact us to make a gift another way.
Special thanks to our event hosts for their leadership and contributions to make this event possible!
