Do you understand ranked choice voting? What will it mean in this election? How can you use it?

The East Side Freedom Library invites you to a workshop on Ranked Choice Voting Education, presented by Mai Yee Chang, Community Organizer with FairVoteMN.

FairVote Minnesota is a nonprofit, nonpartisan grassroots organization that engages and works together with hundreds of volunteers and supporters for a healthier democracy through public education and advocacy of electoral reform. They promote inclusive voting systems that foster greater choice and a stronger voice for all voters through increased competition, participation, and representation.

Mai Yee Chang is a community organizer with FairVote MN. This year’s city council races are working on educating St. Paul community members about Ranked Choice Voting (RCV), particularly in the City Council races.  Ranked Choice Voting is a system proven to be more inclusive, participatory, and representative than our current first-past-the-post electoral system.

This short class is to educate St. Paul community members about Ranked Choice Voting and prepare them to rank their candidates for this year’s city council election.
