Tenant Protections Info Session

Join the East Side Freedom Library and the City of Saint Paul’s Office of Financial Empowerment for an informative session about tenant rights and protections in Saint Paul.
This session will cover:
- Limits on security deposits and prepaid rent
- Applicant screening and Uniform Screening Criteria
- The temporary 60-day pre-eviction notice, in effect through December 31, 2026
- Protections for tenants when affordable housing properties are sold
The program will include time for questions, open discussion, and conversation about how these protections apply in practice. Light refreshments will be provided.
Tenants are especially encouraged to attend, as well as housing advocates, service providers, and community members who want to learn more about renters’ rights in Saint Paul.
