Panel Discussion: THE FIGHT FOR MORE TIME – A CAMPAIGN THAT CAN REVITALIZE OUR UNIONS

September 27 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join us for a panel discussion featuring MAPE activists, and take part in a conversation
about how we can make our unions stronger while fighting for more time for ourselves.

This past year, members of the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees (MAPE) launched an
internal campaign to educate and organize members about the possibilities of seeking a 32 hour work
week. They organized a union committee and collaborated with a network of advocates beyond MAPE
called “WorkFourMN.” In mere months, they inspired 2500 rank-and-file state workers to sign a petition
advocating for a 32 hour work week, drawing many into becoming union members, and participated in
conversations, meetings, and co-dreaming about how all Minnesotans can have more time outside of work.

While MAPE did not win a 32 hour work week in their 2025 negotiations, there is much that workers and unions can learn from their experience.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 27TH 1-3PM @ The East Side Freedom Library
