Walking Tour: Immigrants & The Making of St. Paul’s East Side

Walk with us and examine the role of immigration in the making and remaking of St. Paul’s East Side. Visit Swede Hollow, one of the area’s earliest immigrant settlements, and Payne Avenue, a cent of community life.  Follow the stories of Swedish, Irish, German, and Italian immigrants before turning to the Hmong, Somali, Latino, and Karen communities that shape the East Side today. Approximately 1 mile walk.

This tour is a Saint Paul Public Schools Community Education program. Registration cost is $25.
