ESFL Welcomes Andrea Tribble

My name is Andrea Tribble (she/her) and I’m joining the East Side Freedom Library as the Community Archivist.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in African American Studies from the University of Houston and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Archival Studies from the University of Alabama.

Through both my studies and experiences as a Queer Black woman, I’ve come to understand grassroots archiving as a necessary practice. This form of memory work is not simply about documenting the past; it’s about activating fragmented history and creating a living record that allows us to define ourselves and our communities. This work allows us to build a historical record where future generations can inherit the fullness of our existence rather than the silence of our exclusion.

I’m excited to work alongside ESFL communities in this effort as we construct the Community Digital Repository (CDR) into a hub for local knowledge and memory.
