TOU SAIKO LEE
JOURNEYS IN THE HMONG DIASPORA

Monday, October 22, 7PM

Tou SaiKo Lee is one of the Twin Cities’ most appreciated storytellers. This evening, he will tell us about his recent travels in the Hmong diaspora. Supported by a Bush Fellowship, he traveled in Australia, Vietnam, China, and Thailand, visiting villages, orphanages, and urbanized communities. He will share with us how these experiences have given inspiration to his ongoing creative work, including My Grandma Can Freestyle, his memoir about his epic intergenerational collaboration with his grandmother, and Ntiaj Teb Koom Tes (Unified Worldwide), his Hmong language Hip Hop album. Tou SaiK will also share with us his photos and videos of the beautiful scenery and people he encountered.
