The East Side Freedom Library and The Germanic-American Institute of Minnesota invite you to a presentation on the German contribution to Saint Paul’s labor history. As part of the first-ever Deutsche Days, a weeklong celebration of Germanic culture leading up to GermanFest Minnesota, Peter Rachleff, Professor Emeritus of History at Macalester College and Co-Executive Director of the East Side Freedom Library, will discuss the roles played by German immigrants and their descendants in the development of Saint Paul’s labor movement. Deutsch Days begins Saturday, June 11, with a free festival at the Germanic American Institute, 301 Summit Avenue. It will continue with a series of events around the city, including a bus tour on Wednesday, June 15.
