Solidarity Saturday

December 10, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm CST

Event Navigation

In the aftermath of our November 12 “Call to Action and Mutual Aid,” the East Side Freedom Library will be hosting a “Solidarity Saturday” on the second Saturday afternoon of each month. We will provide the time and space for participants to report back on their activities in the prior month, particularly in grassroots work with our neighbors. We will also provide a workshop for those who are interested. On December 10, we will provide a “Theater of the Oppressed” workshop to help us build the self-confidence and strategies to intervene when we witness incidents of harassment in our communities. For those not interested in participating in this workshop, we will screen a short documentary film about Jane Addams’ Hull House project which is very relevant to thinking creatively about the challenges we face.

You do not have to have participated in the initial “Call to Action and Mutual Aid” to take part in “Solidarity Saturday.”
