The East Side Freedom Library invites you to mark the 150th anniversary of the 14th Amendment with David Williard, Asstistant Professor of History at University of St. Thomas. Professor Williard teaches courses on the history of the Civil War and Reconstruction and he has been a faculty leader of Civil Rights Movement history tours. His research has focused on the lives and political outlooks of Confederate veterans, and he has been active in the organization of Historians Against Slavery. David promises to explore the promises and limitations of citizenship since the passage of the 14th Amendment.
