Steeling Our Magnolias: Forging our Voices for the Ongoing Work of Speaking Up & Out

April 20, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm CDT

Event Navigation

As active members of our democracy, we are voicing our opinion in public hearings, outdoor marches, and big rallies, as well as in intimate quarters with family, friends, and allies. As we yell our favorite chants and sing our convictions loudly, our voices quickly get sore and hoarse. Speaking up and out in this way can threat our ability to speak up and out long-term if we’re not careful.

This workshop brings awareness to 5 basic qualities of voice we use habitually in everyday life and invites you into a deeper exploration of the Metal quality in your voice and how you can use it more effectively in your advocacy-activism work.

Steeling Our Magnolias is an introductory workshop of the Full Voice: 5 Elements Framework ™ Vocal Coaching Method with an emphasis on the Metal Element. The instructor is Conie Borchardt of Points Of Light Music, where voices are coached into their fullness, anyone can embody peace, listening happens through walking, and intuition is freed through creativity. Contact her at [email protected] or 612-756-8011 with questions about this workshop, individual lessons, or visit www.PointsOfLightMusic.net for more information about the other programs.
