The East Side Freedom Library invites you to an original presentation:

Nostalgia, Memory, and Hmong American Culture

Thursday, August 9, 2018, 7pm

How do two distinct cultures, Hmong and American, meld together to form one? To what extent do Hmong Americans sense the weight of this identity?

As a Hmong American, Jim Vue explores the ramifications of such a union and opens up possibilities for new explorations into nostalgia, memory and the Hmong American culture.

Jim Vue grew up in Texas, served in the U.S. Army, and then moved to St. Paul, Minnesota.  He has been working towards a Masters degree at Metropolitan State University. His presentation is based on his research project.
