Native Land (Labor Movie Night)

February 7, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm CST

Event Navigation

The Twin Cities Labor Movie Night continues with “Native Land,” (1942) a documentary about the suppression of union-organizing campaigns in the 1930s South.

Made by the same creative team that would later make SALT OF THE EARTH (1954), this film is narrated by Paul Robeson, and it includes several powerful vocals by the great vocalist and political activist.

This movie series is co-sponsored by AFSCME Local 3800, University of Minnesota’s clerical and technical workers’ union, and the St Paul Regional Labor Federation.
