Event Navigation

Among all people, freedom is one of the highest values. The American ideal is based on liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Freedom is every person’s birthright. It is our very nature, yet it’s full realization can be elusive.

In this weekly gathering we will take up the ritual of mindfulness mediation as a practice of freedom. And, we will consider the meaning of freedom, bother personal and collective, through sacred readings, discussion and writing reflections.

This gathering is open to everyone, no previous meditation experience is necessary. The session as drop-in and offered on a donation basis. Tea will be served and you are welcome to bring a lunch.

Urban Monk Marc Anderson will facilitate these sessions. Mar is a Zen Buddhist priest and the founder/director of the M2 Foundation, a Saint Paul nonprofit that offers programming on the art of mindful living. He is on staff at both Hamline University and Macalester College and has had a long and successful career as a professional percussionist and composer.
