September 17, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm CDT

Event Navigation

The East Side Freedom Library, in collaboration with the Community Engagement Department of the St. Paul Police Department, invite you to learn about:

The Mental Health Unit of the St. Paul Police Department
a presentation by Sgt. James Sipes, MHU Coordinator

Monday, September 17, 2018, 7pm

In an effort to work more effectively with community members, the St. Paul Police Department created the Mental Health Unit, assigned four officers to it, and recently added a social worker to their staff. Sgt. Sipes has more than 18 years experience with SPPD. Please come hear him explain this unit, its functions, and what community members can do. We hope this event will be the beginning of a continuing conversation between community members and the Police Department.
