The East Side Freedom Library and Brunson’s Pub invite you to a walking tour

Immigration: Then and Now
The Past, Present, and Future of Payne Avenue
Sunday, November 4, 2018, 11am – 12:30pm

For more than 150 years, immigrants have planted their dreams and transplanted their cultures, from Swede Hollow to Arlington Hills. Join ESFL Co Executive Director Peter Rachleff and learn about the experiences of Swedes, Italians, Irish, Germans, Mexicans, and Poles in  the 19th and early 20th centuries, and Hmong, Mexican, Somali, and Karen newcomers in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.

Meet us at Brunson’s Pub, 956 Payne Avenue, at 11am. Walk up an appetite and a thirst and return to Brunson’s by 12:30PM. Enjoy food for thought and food for the body and soul. We will walk about a mile and a half.
