The East Side Freedom Library invites you to join us for: Fight for 52 Cents: A Solo Performance by Howard Petrick. On Saturday, September 23 at 7pm, veteran solo performer and former Minneapolis resident Howard Petrick returns to the Twin Cities with his new show, “Fight for 52 Cents,” an engrossing and electrifying memoir of Minneapolis’ revolutionary labor leader, Vincent Raymond Dunne.
Dunne led the 1934 Teamsters’ strike, one of the most influential strikes in American history. Petrick portrays an eighty year old Dunne speaking to an audience in 1969 on the 35th anniversary of the strike. This is not to be missed.
Free and open to all, although we will be collecting donations for the performer.
