The East Side Freedom Library Invites You To Join With Your Neighbors In A Discussion Of Zora Neale Hurston’s Classic Novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God

With our partners, Metro State University and the Saint Paul Public Library System, and the support of the National Endowment of the Arts, the East Side Freedom Library is taking part in The Big Read, an effort to get members of the community of all ages to read and discuss one important book. Our choice is Their Eyes Were Watching God, written by the leading woman writer within the Harlem Renaissance. Find out why this book has been hailed and criticized since it first appeared in 1937. We have free copies of the book – available now – to provide to those that would like to participate in the discussion.
