Circle Up Play Reading Festival: The Empathy Project

December 8 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Event Navigation

Join ESFL and Full Circle Theater for the First Annual Circle Up Play Reading Festival!

The Empathy Project
Developed & directed by Stephanie Lein Walseth
Saturday, December 8th at 7:30pm

The Empathy Project was conceived and developed by Stephanie Lein Walseth to explore the need for people to truly communicate with each other and realize our shared humanity, rather than shout at each other across partisan divides.  It will involve three theater artists who will share their own personal life experiences through monologues before having the audience engage in their own one on one sharing and listening on similar topics.  It is Full Circle’s effort to bring people together to find connections across lines of difference.

The mission of Full Circle Theater is to produce heartfelt, groundbreaking theater that artfully addresses issues of human nature and social justice for 21st century audiences. Full Circle Theater values theater that

Is multiracial and multicultural in its representation of life.
Is deeply inclusive of artists of color who share in the artistic vision and leadership of the company.
Reflects a deep awareness of feminist perspectives.
Incorporates intergenerational artistic collaboration.
Incorporates color conscious casting and diversity in the creative process.
Supports the development of emerging theater artists.
Powerfully engages diverse audiences and communities.
