Join Minnesota Move to Amend in “A Celebration of the Monahan Brothers: Walking the Walk, Talking the Talk of Democracy.”  On May 16, 2010, Laird and Robin Monahan began a walk across the country to draw attention to the corrupting influence that big money and the court-created doctrine of corporate personhood (in the Citizens’ United decision) have on our democracy.

Their walk inspired thousands across the country to get involved in the movement to amend the U.S. Constitution.  Laird and Robin had both served in Vietnam and became members of Veterans for Peace.  Although Laird passed away in 2013, his spirit continues to inspire this movement.  This event is co-sponsored by the Minnesota Move to Amend State Network and Friends for a NonViolent World.  For more information, please see https://movetoamend.org/about-us.
