November 11, 2016 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm CST

Event Navigation

Join us for the exhibition opening reception of “Karen Waving Circle” on November 11, 4-7PM

The Karen Weaving Circle was created by women who wanted to revive, maintain, and pass on traditional weaving.  They weave together weekly and teach this folk art to youth in St. Paul and Roseville public schools.  This exhibition will showcase traditional pieces and demonstrate the weaving process with six stations.

Interpreters will be available for questions and refreshments will be served.

Join us to learn more about the 12,000 Karen refugees in Minnesota!

In addition to the opening night, the exhibit will be viewable during ESFL open hours, Monday through Saturday, 9am to 2pm. It will run Saturday, November 12 through Wednesday, November, November 23.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
