Dease Scholars and faculty from the University of St. Thomas, in partnership with Dr. Peter Rachleff and Dr. Beth Cleary of the East Side Freedom Library, invite the community to participate in a dialog about the importance of studying the Civil Rights Movement. Students and faculty will be participating in a spring break study tour of the Civil Rights Movement with emphasis on the city of Memphis, TN and the Mississippi Delta. Students will discuss what they’ve learned relative to what they knew or didn’t know prior to their departure and will answer the question: How important is it to study the Civil Rights Movement?
